Venerable Lama Zasep Rinpoche Visit Nov 5-8, 2026

Gaden Samdrupling Monastery is deeply honored and blessed to welcome the respected Buddhist teacher, author, and scholar Venerable Lama Zasep Rinpoche. He will offer teachings, practice, and an empowerment in November 2026.

Lama Zasep RinpocheLama Zasep Rinpoche, a highly realized and internationally respected teacher of Gelugpa Buddhism, was born in Tibet in the province of Kham in 1948. Since 1976 he has taught western Dharma students in Australia, Canada, and the United States, developing Dharma centers in each of these countries. Rinpoche regularly visits these centers to offer extensive teachings, initiations, and retreats which his many students enthusiastically attend.

In 1999, Rinpoche and his students created the Gaden for the West, an umbrella organization to more effectively support and nourish the study of Gelugpa Tibetan Buddhism in the West.

2026 Teachings Schedule

Teachings on the Seven-Limb Practice
Thursday, November 5
7 PM

Rinpoche will explain the seven limbs prayer and how to practice them – prostration, offering, confession, rejoicing, requesting the Buddhas to remain, requesting the turning of the wheel of Dharma, and dedication.

Introduction to the 21 Taras According to Mahasiddha Surya Gupta
Friday, November 6
7 PM

Tara is considered the mother of all Buddhas, known for compassion, generosity, overcoming fears, and more. Rinpoche will explain Tara’s 21 manifestations, offering us all the blessings need to accomplish our dharma wishes by creating necessary conditions for our spiritual growth.

Red Tara Empowerment
Saturday, November 7
2 PM

Red Tara practice helps us cultivate loving kindness, compassion, confidence, and positive energy. It is traditionally associated with magnetizing beneficial conditions, improving harmony, removing obstacles, and attracting supportive circumstances for Dharma practice. Ultimately, the practice helps transform attachment into wisdom and supports the development of bodhicitta and enlightenment for the benefit of all beings.

Teaching on the Practice of Red Tara
Sunday, November 8
10:00 AM – 4:30PM (Lunch and tea are offered)

Rinpoche will offer teachings and guide us in the meditation of Red Tara practice.

All teachings are offered free of charge. Donations are welcome and greatly appreciated.
